Prep Time: 20 min
Cook Time: 30 to 40 min
1 box (12 oz.) of Mrs. Cubbison's Traditional Seasoned Stuffing
1 cup; (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup; fresh, diced celery
1 cup; fresh (or frozen and thawed) yellow sweet corn or 1 cup canned, drained works as substitute
1/2 cup; diced dried apricots
1 cup; lightly crushed, Fresh Gourmet Crispy Onions
1 cup; plain, hot water
2 teaspoons; honey
Stir-In Options:
1 cup; chopped pecans
1 cup; golden raisins
1 cup; steamed, wild rice
As per basic box directions, combine packaged dressing with melted butter, vegetables, fruit, crispy onions and hot water with honey, mixing well until thoroughly combined. Use more water for a moister dressing, less water for drier dressing.
If used to stuff poultry, DO NOT stuff until just before roasting. Roast in the bird as usual.
Otherwise, prepare a 9" X 13" baking dish with cooking oil spray and preheat oven to 350°F. Spoon and press stuffing into prepared baking dish and cover with foil. Bake on middle rack of preheated 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the top of the stuffing is lightly golden brown.
